Parque Güell
Antoni Gaudí was a famous Catalan architect born in 1852 who was known as the greatest exponent of Catalan Modernism. Parque Güell is one of the most popular and iconic destinations in Barcelona and was created by Gaudí. Parque Güell is a really impressive masterpiece, not many modernist parks in the world compare to this and when wandering through it you can marvel at the buildings and design.
Casa Batlló
Gaudí had a unique and distinctive architectural style and created some really amazing buildings like Casa Batlló as seen in the picture below. When walking through Barcelona you can really get a feel for Gaudi’s influence over the city.
Barcelona Beach
Barcelona is a city located on the coast and although the beach can’t compare to beaches in Ibiza, it is still a great place to relax, take in the fresh air, sunbathe, swim or watch sunrise or sunset.
Beach Front
All year round the atmosphere at the Barcelona beach front is vibrant, especially during summer. There are always lots of people walking, exercising, riding bikes and skating.
La Sagrada Familia
La Sagrada Familia (Basilica and Expiatory Church of the Holy Family) is one of the most recognisable buildings in the world and an iconic symbol of Barcelona. This Gaudi masterpiece is the most visited tourist attraction in Spain and is set to be completed in 2026.
Giradabo Big Wheel
The Giradabo big wheel opened in 2014 and is situated one of the highest parts of Barcelona with incredible views for miles around. Ride the big wheel and get taken into the sky and see a unique view of Barcelona, the sea and the surrounding areas.
Nou Camp
If you are passionate about sports then a visit to the Now Camp, home to Barcelona FC, is a must do activity. The 90,000 capacity stadium is one of the biggest in the world and the atmosphere on match days is incredible.
Arco do Triunfo
Paris has the Arc de Triomphe, and Barcelona has the Arco do Triunfo, a huge striking monument in the city centre.

Barcelona really is unlike many other cities in the world with its symmetrical planning and tree lined streets. You can really get a feel for the city by exploring on foot, every neighbourhood is different and there are always hidden gems to be found.

Barcelona has lots of highly rated museums, and the National Art Museum of Catalonia is one of the most impressive both in terms of architecture and art collections.
Transbordador Aeri del Port Cable Car
If you are scared of heights look away now. There are several cable cars and mountain train rides in Barcelona and if you are anywhere near the seafront you will see the descriptive red/white cabins “Transbordador Aeri del Port.”
It opened on 11th November 1931 and at the top of the cable car tower on the beach there is an gourmet restaurant called Torre de Alta Mar. The route travels to / from Montjuic hill crossing Barcelona Port Vell harbour from San Sebastia beach. You can buy tickets at the port cable car end stations
Another cable car you might want to check out is the The Montjuïc cable car ride which is one of the best ways to see Barcelona from the air. This 750 meter high cable car allows you to enjoy breathtaking views of the city and the sea from the castle.
Harbour & Waterfront
Barcelona’s port has a 2000-year history and great contemporary commercial importance as one of Europe’s major ports in the Mediterranean. Now it is a thriving location to enjoy dining, entertainment and also see some of the most lavish yachts and boats in the region.
